After a busy week like this one, I’m grateful for the chance to take the weekend off from blogging. But that doesn’t stop me from posting an unedited Smartphone Saturday image straight off the phone.
My brother-in-law and I have biked the Cronan Ranch Trails Park several times now, but this truck had never before greeted us at the top of the western hill climb. The old Chevy looked weathered enough to make me wonder if the world had ended while we were busy pedaling in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The paint on the hood seemed to peel before our eyes, and the numbers of the license plate seemed to be all but worn off. And even though the truck looked abandoned, it was one and the same vehicle used to haul food and water up the hill to feed a flock of grazing sheep just outside the frame. The hungry creatures didn’t seem to mind that the truck looked as old as time.
